Insights
Describe the perfect evening.
My idea of a perfect evening out would start with a picnic on a very secluded bluff overlooking the ocean. Dinner would consist of a variety of finger foods that we could feed to each other as sit closely together and watch the waves roll in. After we would eat, we would watch the sun set, wrapped in each others arms. Snuggling, we would then talk about whatever we felt like talking about or just enjoy the warmth of each other's arms as the stars one by one would fill the night sky. The radio would be playing softly, of course tuned into a love songs only station. When our favorite song would start to play on the radio, we would dance slowly under the stars, holding each other tightly. Letting the words of the song speak to each other's heart.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
The first is that the attractiveness of a person can be very quickly determined, with the average time in one study being 0.13 seconds. The second is that the first few minutes of a relationship have shown to be predictive of the relationship's future success, more so than what two people have in common or whether they like each other.
How important is someone's physical appearance to you?
It boosts self-confidence and self-esteem. One feels very reassured when other people admire them and prefer to associate with them as they find them very attractive.
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
For people to see one another as people! Not as a race or their sexuality.
What is the purpose of marriage?
The purpose of marriage is to spiritually, emotionally and physically unite a man and a women together, as husband and wife, in a covenantal relationship between themselves and their Creator. Marriage is one of the most important commitments that someone can make during their lifetime. If you are considering making a marriage commitment, it is important to reflect on the type of commitment that you will be making with the person you plan to marry. Marriage is neither a political invention nor an optional moral practice. The institutionalized and socially recognized aspect of marriage does not change the nature of marriage and family, nor does it substitute itself to it. It enables a particular political/administrative management, which varies according to eras, places and cultures. In other words, it is marriage as a natural union which comes first, and its political management which comes second. Same sex marriage, opposite sex marriage, human-animal marriage - it's all stupid. You get the same benefits from living common-law with someone that you get when you marry someone so why bother? The only difference is that piece of paper that says you are legally entitled to be miserable together until one of you kicks off. Understanding God's purpose for marriage is of the utmost importance, because to marry and miss it is to enter into a life full of frustration and disappointment -- setting the stage for great marital unrest. Most of us tend to marry with very romanticized ideas of what marriage is going to be. With great excitement we anticipate the relationship that will finally meet our romantic and emotional needs. God's primary intention for marriage however, is not what most of us imagine it to be. He has not designed marriage as a place where we can finally try to get our needs met. He has created it as something much better -- something far more grand than that. God intends to use marriage to accomplish a very important goal -- one that is His primary goal for all Christians. God's primary purpose for marriage is to use it to help shape us into the image of His Son. If we miss out on this we are doomed to a life of anxiety and frustration. Yes, marriage is God's arrangement for lifetime companionship and the arena for our sexual expression, but like with all that He has created, God uses marriage to direct us towards Himself. The challenges offered in marriage He capitalizes on to help shape and mold us into the image of Jesus. To evaluate our personal success in a marriage we must not then look to see if our needs are being met, but we must ask ourselves,
