In their own words

African- American man looking for a smart, forward-looking friend/partner.

I'm a 53 year-old/young man willing to give all I have to offer (presently and in the future) to make my next/newest relationship my best (and last) ever. Thank you. I live and work in Philadelphia. Although I do have a decent sized family in Philadelphia (parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, etc.), I do not have kids of my own. Outside of work, I enjoy reading (history, social science, etc.), listening to music (Bob Marley, Lionel Ritchie, Steve Winwood, Gloria Estefan, Angelique Kidjo, Sade, etc.), Center City: Liberty Place (for a bacon cheeseburger and a coffee), then South Street (for more coffee, probably at "STARBUCKS", because my favorite cafe' disappeared 15 years ago, but I can't seem to get over it (hee hee, lol). Finally, sunny "LOVE PARK" (for the best view down the [Benjamin Franklin] Parkway). I look forward to communicating with an American woman, or a foreign national who lives in the United States. If you are interested in a positive interpersonal relationship that is based on mutual respect, honesty and "true love", and (hopefully) yours' and my best partnership and love-story to date, I'd love to talk to you. Please be located in the United States..."

Insights
Describe the perfect evening.
Arriving home early from work, and eating a hot, delicious dinner of my favorite Jamaican dishes. Then helping my super-cute step-daughter with her homework. Sometimes I'll cheat and just do it for her. I'm a sucker for dimples (lol).
Describe your perfect weekend.
My perfect weekend: My wife (if we were still together), step-daughter and myself at the Philadelphia Zoo right at opening. Next- Liberty Place (in Phila.) for lunch.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes. But I probably shouldn't.
How many kids would you like to have?
I would have liked to have had four, but my history of interpersonal relationships did not allow me to fulfill a family of four siblings.
How important is someone's physical appearance to you?
Honesty, realness, and the true intentions and motivations of a prospective soulmate is more critical.
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
Clairevoyance.
What is the purpose of marriage?
Marriage is the beginning the of the family, and should be a life-long commitment. It also provides an opportunity to grow in selflessness as a father serves his wife and children; and, vice versa.
What is the most important lesson that you've learned?
That, if you allow it, people will take acute advantage of you.
What gets on your nerves?
Fake people, and people who say one thing, but do the opposite.
What is the most important thing in a relationship?
Two items: Shared values, and honesty.
What's the best age to get married?
It depends on the lives o the particular people involved, and the particular national/world cultures that they are raised in.
What turns you off?
People who never miss church on Sunday, claim they're Christian- then, in my case- marry you just for a U.S. visa. I literally had that done to me.
What turns you on?
A highly attractive woman with a sharp sense of humor.
What do you hope to be doing five years from now?
Five years from now (which would be 2/17/2025), I'll settle for waking-up next to my new wife that I first talked to on this dating-site.
